Presidents Message

Mark EtheringtonWelcome to the Norwood Football club for our 2006 season. On behalf of the committee and staff we look forward to sharing a very exciting season with you again, to our new members we will ensure you are embraced as part of the family very quickly. It has been an eventful offseason; tireless work by executive and interviewing panels has seen a few changes within our match staff. I am confidant our new senior coach, Mr. Brett Ratten will lead Norwood to expand on its rapid success to date. Ensuring all the hard work that we have completed so far, to be where we are, is complimented by his years of experience at an elite level, both on and off field. Please make yourself known to Brett and welcome his family to the club. Mark Attard and a new face Bradley McBride will assist Brett in his role. Brian Chamberlain will continue his role with the reserves and assist seniors, our colts are led by Graeme Cuff and assisted by John Strempil and Ian Shepherd.

Our committee has expanded and reshuffled slightly, the new introductions will unfold as the season gets under way. Norwood has a proud tradition of strength in numbers, but individual commitment often is overlooked as part of that total presence, we need to harness both to match it with very strong competition this year. Every facet of the club will require support, we will place emphasis on accountability on and off field. We will be expanding on our sponsorship base via the services of Mandy again as club administrator. We will be working closely with our juniors to ensure both sections of the club continue a successful path forward. New initiatives will unfold, our Norsemen supporters and past players fund raising groups will play a more active role in club operations, game day included, offering additional financial support to the club as a whole.

Exciting social events are booked in again, Ann Jansen will lead this department and form joint functions with our junior club on occasions. Half time every home game an Auskick game will be isplayed, the future is our juniors. Norwood Football club is a very successful club for many reasons, one of which is a strong supporter base. I am going to request one thing from this group, please continue your support via being an official member, benefit from the privileges a membership offers, and please see Mick McCubbin. I wish every success to our new and existing player group and
look forward to the many challenges and triumphs in 2006.

Yours Sincerley,

Mark Etherington
