Deano's Punters Club 2009/10
Week 18
With only 1 week to go so it’s all or nothing for those who are punting this week.
Jay was that close it wasn’t funny. He had a trifector in the Blue Diamond getting 1st, 3rd and 4th. He also had a quinella in the same race (1st, 3rd). He backed Willow Creek (4th) each way and Evidential (no good), so maybe he should look at the Hayes gorses next time, he might get lucky. Bad luck mate.
Downsy had a flexi quaddie, also at Caulfield. He had Heart of Dreams (2nd) one out in the first leg and of course the other 3 legs came in. He also had 2 x 3 horse Parlays for a $1 each way. The 1st was Solchow (won) into Lady Lynette (2nd place) and Rostova (no good). His 2nd was Righfully Yours (won) into Heart of Dreams (2nd) and Wanted (4th) so had luck there also.
Dale McCartin put his $50 on Rangirandoo (2nd) in the 6th at Rosehill. It lost by a half head. Shady had a flexi tri in the last at Caulfield with him getting 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Bruce Hayden backed Racing Pegasus (last) at Doomben in the 7th.
Go the punt.

Week 17
Still dropping cash boys but not a big hit this week.
The weekend started with Colonel having 2x$25 multi’s which were no good. The 1st one was Australia (cricket-wash out), Eagles (won), Hawks (won), and the Crows (AFL- lost) paying $77.75 so that was close. The second one was Victory (A league lost), Australia (cricket wash out), Lions (AFL lost), Atlanta, Orlando and Toronto (NBL- 2 won) paying $523.50.
Orry had 2 multi’s the 1st was Crows, Hawks, West Coast and Dogs (AFL) paying $64.35. The crows got pumped. They lost us a couple of multi;s – bloody Crows. His 2nd was Adelaide, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney v Victory (draw) and Wellington v Central Coast (draw). He only got the Perth game in. It was paying $1164. He also had $10 each way on Snipers Bullet in the 7th at Moonee Valley, it placed giving him a bit of profit.
Shady had his $50 on the Hawks which saluted. Good stuff mate you bet next week.
Mick McCubbin had 2 running doubles which were close. The 1st was Tollesprit (won) in the 2nd into Aloha (2nd) in the 4th. The 2nd one was Linton (won 6th) into Nicconi (no good 7th). He also had a flexi box trifector in the 8th getting 1st and 3rd. Better luck next time mate.
Jay had a flexi tri in the 6th that got up and also backed Nicconi (no good) on the nose in the 7th.
You get to bet again next week also. Good stuff.
Try and get outstanding money to me fellas so we can have a reasonable punters club big day out. Talking of big day out we haven’t booked a date yet.
I’ll get that organized soon.
Go the punt.

Week 16
Another week, another loss. There’s still a chance we can get out of the little hole we’ve dug, pretty slim though. We’ve got to go down swinging.
The Punks run finally came to an end. He bached Innocent Gamble (no good) 5th at Caulfield and Viewed (no good) in the 7th.
I had a win but really lost. I got the Quaddie at Caulfield on Saturday for 10%. Mostly favourites came in so a small dividend. It actually cost us money to put it on and I don’t get to bet next week. Damn.
Hobbo backed Innocent Gamble (no good) as well in the 5th at Caulfield.
Mick Ewenson backed Irish Lights (no good) in he 6th at Caulfield. He also had a multi. West Indies (lost) into New Orleans (won) to win the Super Bowl. Bad luck mate but don’t back against the Ozzys. Helman didn’t bet.
Need cash boys so will catch up with everybody.
Go the punt.

Week 15
The season is going fast with only 4 weeks to go. Can we start getting your cash in and make sure we’re all paid up.
The punk did it again backing Nicconi in the lightning stakes each way so he gets to punt again for the 4th time in a row.
His other bets were Buccaneers Prize, (no good) eachway in the 4th at Randwick and Kings Pride (no good) in the 7th. Go Punk.
Whitey backed Leapfrog (no good) in the 7th at Doomben.
Brad Benson had a winner but actually lost on the bet. He had a Flexi tri in the 3rd at Flemington. He had 1,2,3 for 1st 1,2,3 for 2nd, Field for 3rd. The order was 1 won, 2 came second and 3 third. As they were all favourites he won back $19.90 for a $30 bet. Bad luck mate.
His other bet was Speedy Natilie (no god) in the 7th.
Tony Dimanno backed Winnin Situation (no good) in the 7th at Gold Coast.
The hard luck story of the week was a soccer multi by Stevie D. He was alive into the last leg to just miss.
He had Birmingham v Tottenham (draw), Chelsea (win), Man City (win), Westham v Blackburn (draw), Everton and Bloody Stoke to win but was a nil all draw. That cost us $2,700. bit stiff mate, but good punting. His other multi was no good.
Make sure I get cashed up.
Go the punt.

Week 14
Not a bad week but we’re still down a little. We’re on the improve and I can feel something big about to happen.
The Punk had a good win on Aussie Day getting the Quaddie at Caulfield. He had a great 75% of the dividend. Good stuff Punk. He goes again next week.
Blainey had a bit of bad luck. He had a couple of tips in Queensland. First tip was Star Stepper in the 4th at Gold Coast. He was told this thing would be a good place bet chance and of course it won by 5 lengths. He got a few bucks for the place. The second tip was suppose to win so he had $30 the win and $10 the place, of course it ran 4th, so no collect there. It was Brigadoon Star which raced in the 7th at Eagle Farm. That’s our year.
Neil had a couple of multi’s which did no good, same for Gav. He had 4 multi’s and had no luck. Micky D had a punt from Asia somewhere for a big multi. All soccer and just missed by one. Bit stiff.
Even T. Lotto bobbed up with 3 numbers. I think T. Lotto should pull his finger out and start producing. He’s done bugger all this year. Chins up, we’re coming home with a wet sail.
Go the punt.

Week 13
Another week another small loss. We came a bit closer this weekend but the results don’t really tell the whole story. We had a lot of each way bets for a lot of placings. The quaddie paid over 200k so winners were hard to come by.
Our carry over champ, Bones, backed Anavalance (place) in the 3rd each way at Femington, then backed Pentire Point (no good) in the 4th, Awimoweh (place) each way in the 5th and My My Maree (no good) in the last.
The punk backed Awimoweh (no good) on the nose in the 5th and Berringama (place) each way in the 6th, it paid $3.60 a place so he bets again next week. It would have been a great result if that got up.
Benny Hazelwood had a crack from Pommy land and backed Swooper each way (no good) in the 6th at Flemingotn and The starlet (place) each way in the 4th at Rosehill.
Ben McCoy put 2 multi’s on at $25 each. The 1st was the Bushrangers (win) in the 20/20 into Melbourne Victory (win) into Fulham (lost) in the EPL. The 2nd was Bushrangers (win) into Victory to draw (lost) into Fulham (lost) so close but so far away.
Our Fearless leader Fitzy just couldn’t bring himself to bet this weekend or during the week so he forfeits his bet and the $50 is banked which is probably a result there
Go the punt.

Week 12
Bones set us off to a good start backing Our Baby Bonus which won the 5th at Caulfield. He then backed Rolling Stock each way in the 7th and that also won. His other bets were Lady Davinci in the 2nd (no good) and Netra in the 3rd (no good). Good punting mate you bet again next week.
Willo backed his bosses horse Johan (no good) each way in the 7th at Pakenham.
Cam Fernandez backed Jusical (no good) in the 2nd at Randwick, Bright Mind (no good) in the 4th and Our Billydakid (no good) in the 8th.
Bruce backed Marveen (no good) in the 6th at Caulfield and Private Jeune (no good) in the last.
Flynn had a $50 multi on the soccer which included Arsenal to beat Everton (draw), Man/U to beat Birmingham (draw), Man City to beat Blackburn (win), Inter Milan to beat Siena (win) and Roma to beat Chieve (win). So he was pretty close.
Keep Plugging away boys.
Go the punt.

Week 11
Well I finally got on to Patto this week. Seems he’s been hibernating for a while. He backed Confessional in the 5th at Randwick (no good). Zoo backed Bank Robber in the 7th at Randwick (no good)) and Origami Miss in the 8th at Flemington (no good). He also had a soccer multi that was Arsenal (win v Hull), Aston Villa (win v Stoke), Chelsea (win v Westham), Man/U (lost to fulham) and Liverpool (lost to Portsmouth), so no good there.
Nuffa had 2 multi’s. $25 on Gale for most runs (no good) into Haritz for most wickets (no good). The other was $25 on NBA Golden State to beat Washington (no good), Cleaveland to beat Milwaukee by 10 points or more (no good), EPL Man/U (lost to Fulham and Liverpool (lost to Portsmouth).
Biggsy backed Melbourne Victory against Sydney which ended in a nil all draw. Hayden Kelly also backed Bank Robber on the nose at Randwick (no good).
Our only win for the day came from Rob Ritchie who backed My My Maree $10 each way. It was coming home like a train only to just miss by a short half head. That was the last at Flemington. He also had a running double in the 5th and 6th at Flemington (no good) and backed Macka’s horse Blueberry Princess in the 7th at Colac on the Sunday (no good).
We took another big hit this week. Hopefully the new year will bring us a change of luck. We need it!
Go the Punt. Go anything that might win. Go T. Lotto.

Week 10
Another week another loss. All you boys who are about to write to Santa write at the top of the list "winners please, send me some winners, we need them".
The only good thing to come out of last week was Patto’s phone was on the blink so I couldn’t contact him. We have 6 punters on the weekend.
Downsy had a 7 leg multi backing Melbourne Victory (win) Man/U, Chelsea (no good) the draw between Bursley and Fulham (win) Minnesota Vikings (win) and S/Africa, Australia in the cricket tests. He also had a flexi Quaddie on Saturday (no good).
Dale McCartin backed Sea skye $25 each way in the 4th at Flemington (no good). Jay backed Geared Up in the last at Rosehill $25 each way (no good) and Robbie Hazelwood put $25 on the nose on Iamzeus in the 6th at Flemington (no good) but placed with an each way bet backing Alsahra in the 7th at Rosehill.
Chins up fellas, I can feel something big about to happen.
Go the Punt.

Week 8 and 9
Sorry that last weeks report was not done on time as we were waiting for the Danny Green v Roy Jones Jnr. fight to take place. We had a multi still alive but it didn’t come in. Last weeks results were $0.
OK, this week we had all the debutants having a crack.
Jay backed Scenica, $25 each way in the 4th at Caulfield which placed paying $3.10. So he gets to punt again next week.
Dale McCartin backed Gag Order, $25 each way, in the last at Doomben which placed paying $2.30. Well done mate so he too gets to punt again.
Rohan Shade backed Ballet Bird in the 1st at the Gold Coast (no good) and Gambono in the 2nd (no good). He was a bit stiff when he had a flexi trifecta in the 7th at Caulfield. It was Field for 1st, Timetable for 2nd and Field for 3rd. Timetable ran 3rd. Bad luck mate.
Bruce Hayden backed Mr Crane (no good) in the 3rd at Cauldfield, also a bit stiff in a flexi trifecta in the 5th getting 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th to just miss. He also backed Bocuse (no good) in the 7th at Doomben.
Mick CcCubben backed Ravishing Reward (no good) in the 4th at Caulfield, Jeteven (no good) in the 6th and Darren Youngs horse Interak (no good) at Terang on Monday.
Go the Punt.

Week 7
Another week, another small profit. Racing again was at Sandown Park with Whitey backing Eva's Charm in the 1st, it got 3rd but was no 3rd dividend. Then he backed North East Smile in the 3rd each way and that won paying $3.70 the win and $1.63 the place. He then backed Rhyno Chacer, (no good), in the 6th. Good stuff Whitey you get to bet again next week.
I backed Happy Glen, (no good), in the 5th and Viking Turf Belle, (no good), in the 7th $25 the win each which continues my tale of woe. I'll win one day.
Hobbo backed Poised To Win, (no good) in 6th $25 each way.
Helmo had 2 multi's on the American basketball (NBA) both were paying plenty but didn't come in. He got 2/10 in one and 6/10 in the other. Bad luck mate.
Flynn had 2 soccer multi's and they both came in to save the day. The 1st one was Chelsea, Manchester United, Swansea and Tottenham to all win, he had $40 on that one which paid $134.80. In his second multi he had Swansea, Chelsea, Man U and Tottenham to all win and a draw between Liverpool and Manchester City. He had his last $10 on that one which paid $111.40. Obviously he's been checking out the soccer form whilst in Pommy land. Good punting mate. Let's see if you can do it again next week.
Go the Punt, go multi's, go Tottenham.

Week 6
Well boys it's the end of the spring carnival and we've got our heads above water, just.
It's a long season and anything can happen from here on. We finally had some luck on the weekend which made us good profit.
Everyone had a crack at Sandown Classic Day except for Stevie D who backed the draw between Australia and Oman in the Asia Cup Qualifiers. Australia won with 10 men. Then he had a 5 leg soccer multi on World Cup qualifiers which was paying $2,700. That didn't come close but it was a good idea. I like the would-be payout.
OK back to Sandown.

Week 4
We've taken a bit of a bit this week, but we're still in front. There's aways next week.
On Derby Day we couldn't buy a winner apart from Bones who backed Kidnapped in the 1st. He also backed McClintock each way in the last which got beaten by a lip. It cost him as he ended up with $49. So bad luck there mate. Gav backed Hume $50 on the nose in the 2nd to run 2nd. Ben McCoy also backed McClintock for the win (2nd). The punk backed Silent Surround for the win in the 3rd (2nd) but backed Shellscrape in race 4 and Viking Legend (Derby) eachway for collects to bring him over the line and up again next week. Fitzy backed Viking Legend each way for a collect.

Week 3
Cox Plate Day at Moonee Valley kicked up a few surprises and also a few certs. So you think Barts not the man well think again. Come the big day at Flemington throw all his things into everything you punt on.
The punt. The day started well with Avenue winning the 3rd paying $1.60 for the win. Ben was a bit unlucky as his $30 win got him to $48 so no punt next week bud. It came in 30c in the last 5 minutes which cost him a fiver. Bruce backed it $10 each way.
Willo backed Heart of Dreams in the Cox Plate each way after he changed his mind at the last minute and got off So You Think. Never change your mind

Week 2
Not much to talk about this week
as we didn't make a cent.
The only one who came close was Rob Ritchie. He had a 6 leg all-up place bet. 5
got up and the other one just missed. He also had 2 win bets on Sunday and they
both finished 2nd. Hope we do better next week fellas.

Week 1
Massive day Caulfieds Guineas
day.
The
day started off pretty slowly with Downsy picking up $33.70 on a
Panlay for $1 each way. He had Harrys Never Late (2nd)
into Avenue (1st ) into Apache Cat (2nd) into
Whobegotyou (1st). Bad luck mate on not betting next
week. Zoo was a bit stiff, he had 5 win bets and a couple of narrow
misses. Same with Robbie Hazelwood w ho just missed with Tootsie in
the last. When we thought all was lost in came Patto. He had a lazy
$50 on star Spangled Banner which paid a massive $12.60 for a $630
return. That's a record for a return on 1 bet. Word is he had an
even better day at the races.
